According to the East African Community Customs
Management Act, there are goods that the import and export of which are
prohibited or restricted. Prohibited
goods refers to the goods where the importation, exportation or transport is
banned. Restricted goods are the goods where the importation, exportation,
transfer or transport is controlled under the provisions of the customs laws or
regulations. Release of such goods is subject to approval by the competent
authority in Tanzania.
