Tanzanian Arabica coffees are grown on the slopes of Mount Kilimanjaro and Mount Meru in the Northern areas, under the shade of banana trees, truly an exotic location for this east African coffee, also in Southern Highlands of Mbeya and Ruvuma regions where coffee is both inter cropped with bananas and some areas are pure stand. Arabica coffee makes up to 70% of total country production.
Robusta coffee is grown in the western areas along Lake Victoria in Kagera region. This constitutes 30% of the total coffee production in Tanzania Tanzania coffee board
Green coffee export approval is the document that certifying a company has been authorized by Tanzania Coffee Board to export (shipment) of a certain amount of coffee with specified coffee grades. The approval is valid for a period of sixty days only and is used once for a single shipment.
As one of the largest producers in Africa, Tanzania's cashew nut exports provide ten to fifteen percent of the country's foreign exchange. The country is the 8th largest grower of cashews in the world and ranks 4th in Africa. The country provides 20% of Africa's cashews and only trails in production of Nigeria, Cote D'Ivoire ,and Guinea-Bissau, according to figures released in 2012 by United Nations Food and Agricultural Organisation (FAO).
The plant is usually cultivated in the southern coastal regions of the country, near the towns of Mtwara, Kilwa and Dar-es-salaam. The sale and marketing of the product is run by the Cashewnut Boards of Tanzania, through various farmer co-operatives.
